Oi! That's my cell phone!

A 36-year-old Bernal Heights mother and her 23-year-old daughter -- yes, those are the correct ages -- probably have many interesting stories to tell.

Being separated by the cops after engaging in a broad daylight knife fight may or may not be one of them.

Police yesterday responded in numbers at 8:46 a.m. to the 600 block of Alemany after the mother and daughter grew testy.

According to a police report that is spartan in detail -- but includes some intriguing ones -- the young women's tête-à-tête was initiated with a dispute "about a cell phone." This led to a physical confrontation and culminated with mom pulling a knife on her daughter.

The two then placed each other under citizens arrest -- which is not always the next step after a knife comes out. The familiy members were both cited for battery, brandishing, and vandalism and released.
