Matt Barnes, the former Golden State Warriors team captain -- and San Francisco Pro-Am champ -- has notified his Twitter followers he's not guilty of felony domestic violence.

The current Los Angeles Laker claims, rather, that he is the victim in a confrontation with his girlfriend, not the abuser. Per his Twitter page: DON'T LET YOUR EARS WITNESS, WHAT YOUR EYES DIDN'T SEE!!!

Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies arrived at Barnes' Fair Oaks home yesterday and found both the Lakers reserve and his girlfriend with "visible injuries" following a "physical confrontation."

He sent a Sacremento-area television reporter the following text: "U know any domestic violence situation 9 outa 10 times the man gets arrested. That's the case here I was the victim but still got arrested. No matter what I say people are gonna think what they want..."

Barnes posted $50,000 bond and was released just after 9:30 p.m. yesterday. He is slated to be arraigned Monday.

Barnes, 30, has played for nine NBA teams, including a productive stint with the Warriors from 2006 to 2008. Last month he signed a two-year, $3.6 million deal with the world champion Lakers.
