A quartet of alleged miscreants have been arrested for purportedly attempting to claim San Bruno fire victim status, and cash in.

Department of Motor Vehicles investigators claim Niesha Taylor, Deonte Bennett, Sonya Smith, and Lisa Justin applied for drivers licenses in the burn zone -- despite the fact they live miles from it. The first two are San Franciscans, while the latter pair are housemates in another part of San Bruno, according to the DMV.

Victim status in the blaze entitles one to a variety of free swag: PG&E compensation for hotels; gift cards for clothes and food; and free cell phones.

The four alleged fakers were booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of burglary, perjury and submitting false or forged documents to a government agency.
