The San Francisco Medical Examiner's office moments ago identified Wednesday's Richmond District murder victim as 37-year-old Travis Del Rio.

Del Rio was shot to death in a multi-unit dwelling on the 400 block of 23rd Avenue; police were alerted to gunshots at around 9 p.m. A black Mercedes was seen motoring away from the scene.

The Medical Examiner has not yet determined Del Rio's city of residence, meaning it is not yet certain if he was killed in his own apartment.

He was the city's 45th homicide this year and first since Medina Abdulkader was shot while walking through Japantown on Thanksgiving.
