Border Patrol agents seized about 11 pounds of methamphetamine from Francisco Carillo-Beltran's luggage as he traveled through the Fresno/Yosemite International Airport on Sept. 11.

Customs and Border Protection officers arrested 42-year-old Carrillo-Beltran, who had been traveling from Guadalajara, Mexico, after he arrived at the airport shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

He had checked a portable massage table as part of his luggage, which was inspected. The Border Patrol agent noticed some "anomalies" in the image as it was being X-rayed, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The agents investigated the table more closely and found the drugs, with a street value of $121,000,  tucked away secretly within the hollowed-out wooden legs of the table.

"Smugglers attempt all types of creative concealment methods to sneak their deadly poison into the United States," says Richard Vigna, CBP Director of Fielf Operations in San Francisco. "This passenger took an enormous risk in attempting to smuggle narcotics

into the U.S. and he now faces very serious smuggling charges."

Carrillo-Beltran, who has no criminal record, is now in the hands of immigration officials and is expected to appear in court today.
