Occupy Oakland's plans to peacefully occupy a vacant building once again turned into a  mini war zone when hundreds of police in riot gear descended on the group Saturday afternoon.

The only thing protesters are occupying now are jail cells.

More than 400 protesters were arrested Saturday in what became an epic stand-off between occupiers that -- once again -- accomplished nothing in downtown Oakland.

Never mind the amount of money blown on police overtime and crews to clean up the aftermath of this chaos; occupiers are now asking you to donate money to help bail their fellow protesters out of jail.

Here's what Occupy Oakland wrote on its website Sunday:

"There are many people who were arrested that need urgent medical attention, people who have been injured by the police or do not have their medication with them that they need to treat prior conditions. We

need the money to bail these people out!"

Protesters claim they were unfairly arrested and said police brutality

was responsible for the out-of-control scene which brought more than

1,000 people to downtown. However, police say they were spraying tear

gas and cuffing protesters with good reason. For instance, some protesters broke

into City Hall and lit a flag on fire.

While protesters reconvened Sunday afternoon to discuss future plans, including another general strike, Mayor Jean Quan -- who is saddled with her own political battles over

the Occupy movement -- examined the damages done inside and outside City Hall. Needless to say, she was not pleased.

""It's like a tantrum," Quan told the Chronicle while showing the damage

inside City Hall. "They're treating us like a playground."

Meanwhile, there were five homicides in Oakland over the weekend.
