After former SF Weekly staff writer Lauren Smiley regaled readers with her ribald version of a Muni ride home alongside one too many masturbators, it appears those public transit perverts have intrigued the local media.

Specifically, The Bay Citizen wants to know just how often Muni and BART riders like you and me are sitting next to passengers who are pleasuring themselves. Not surprisingly, public transit cock-sightings, while generally unwelcome, are not widely reported, which is why the local nonprofit has taken the matter into its own hands (pun intended).

The Bay Citizen has created an online poll, asking readers to share their experiences with men (or women?) sexualizing their transit rides so we can all better understand the magnitude of this deviant behavior.

It's a simple three questions, and there's a comment section to give all you pissed-off ladies a chance to vent about those unwanted crotches (be careful, your comments could be used for publication).

Check out the full poll here.

The San Francisco Street Food Festival was another success this year. Dozens of vendors with original, unheard-of creations, such as deep fried mac and cheese on a stick, black pea paste pancakes, and Korean quesadillas. Then there was the comfort foods we've grown accustomed to, like creme bruleé, shrimp rolls, and pound cake. Photographs by Mabel Jimenez.
