Medical authorities have identified 21-year-old Lawrence Richardson as the man who was fatally shot last night as he walked out of a corner store on Eddy Street.

Police said someone fired at Richardson, a San Francisco resident, as he stood on the sidewalk at the 1800 block of Eddy Street near Divisidero. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died, police said.

Police had no more details about the shooting, nor could they give us a description of the suspect. What we can tell you is that yesterday's shooting marks the city's 18th homicide this year. On Sunday, 20-year-old Jahmad Karriem was shot and killed at a Ingleside home.

Police ask anyone with information about last night's murder is asked to call police at 575-4444 or text information to TIP411.
