A 23-year-old man died Tuesday morning from injuries he received after being shot in the Potrero Hill neighborhood on Sunday morning.

According to press reports, the man was in the back seat of a car that was dropping someone off on Watchman Way early Sunday morning when they heard gun shots. The driver of the car made a U-turn to get out of the area when the

suspect fired one more shot, which shattered the rear window and struck

the victim, police said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The medical examiner has identified the victim, but have not been able to find his family. No arrests have been and police were unable to provide any suspect information.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at  575-4444, or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
