Police are investigating a second homicide over the weekend, which claimed the life of a man in his 20s.

Officer Albie Esparza tells us that on Sunday about 4 p.m., officers were called to the 1200 block of Treat Street on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an unidentified man shot to death.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Uptown Almanac reports that the victim was "executed" in broad daylight. However, Esparza could not confirm that the victim was executed.

The Medical Examiner told SF Weekly that they have identified the victim, but would not release his name until they had contacted his family.

Police had no more information about the crime, including a possible suspect description. The shooting was the city's 50th homicide this year. On Saturday, 18-year-old Demariee Lewis was shot to death in the city's Bayview neighborhood. Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murdering Lewis, a Richmond resident.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to contact the Homicide Detail at 553-1145, or
