Homicide Inspectors issued an alert this weekend, asking for the public's assistance in tracking down the person or people who killed Alberto Casillas outside a SOMA nightclub.

On Jan. 7, 2007, at 2:17 a.m., Casillas was driving his silver GMC Yukon SUV in the area of 13th and Folsom streets when he was gunned down. He was transported to the hospital where he later died. According to police, the shooters had confronted Casillas earlier in the evening at Club Caliente where they pulled a firearm during that exchange.

Last year, police said they were offering a $250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the killers. San Francisco Police Homicide Inspector Kevin Jones and Casillas' mother will be available for the media to answer questions pertaining to the case at 2 p.m. today, on the corner of 13th and Folsom streets.

The first shooting suspect was described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old, and is 6-foot-4. He weighs about 200 pounds, has a dark complexion, and was wearing a long black jacket and a black T-shirt with a white square in the chest area and a logo inside the square, police said.

The second suspect was also described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old. He is 5-foo-8 and weighs about 160 pounds. He was clean shaven with a short haircut, and wore a dark T-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the SFPD anonymous tip line at 575-4444, or text a tip to TIP411; begin the message with "SFPD."
