It was a violent weekend for San Francisco where three men were shot, two of whom died, according to police. Medical authorities have identified the two shooting victims as 26-year-old Jamal Gaines and 43-year-old Daniel Colon, who leaves behind an 11-year-old son.

The first shooting happened on Saturday at about 5:30 p.m.; Gaines was driving his black 4-door car near Fillmore and Geary when someone shot him multiple times, according to police.

Gaines crashed his vehicle into a parked car while the suspect ran to a white or silver vehicle and drove off.

Gaines was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic was impacted in the area of Fillmore and Post while homicide investigators canvassed the scene for clues.

Then on Monday about midnight, someone gunned down 43-year-old Daniel Colon and his cousin as the two were out celebrating the 49ers victory near the 1100 block of Naples. Colon was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim, a 34-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General with a gunshot wound to his chest. He's expected to survive, police said.

In that incident, the suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information regarding either one of these shootings is asked to call San Francisco Police at 575-4444.

The two deaths are the city's second and third homicides of 2013.
