A Vallejo couple taking a romantic outing to San Francisco on Valentine's Day stumbled across something that would bring any couple closer together : $11,060 in cash.

NBC brings us the story this morning of Carlos and Barbara Landeros, who made a pre-Valentine's Day dinner stop at the Golden Gate Bridge only to find a little more than breathtaking views. When they pulled into Vista Point, Barbara spotted a black camera bag with no owner in sight.

The couple stood guard over the bag, assuming the owner would come back looking for it. "We [waited] about 45 minutes before we picked up the bag," Barbara told NBC.

Eventually Barbara's curiosity got the best of her and she decided to take a peek inside, where she saw a camera lens, credit cards, and finally, an envelope filled with all that cash.

"I got nervous at first, it could be drug money," she said. "I was scared."

The couple decided to do the right thing and not spend it (good karma). Instead, they brought the cache of cash to the San Francisco Police Department. The cops, who admitted even they were impressed by the kindness of these strangers, were able to use the credit cards to trace the owners. As you can imagine, the tourists were stoked to get their money before traveling back home to China the following day.

As for the Landeroses, well, after dropping off the cash, those good Samaritans got stuck in San Francisco traffic, missed their romantic dinner, and ended up eating a snack at a local McDonald's for Valentine's Day, because no good deed goes unpunished.
