Body Found Face Down at S.F. Beach (Update)

Update 2:51 p.m.: The U.S. Park Police got back to us with a few more details: the man's was found by a passersby who called 911. The Fire Department responded and pronounced the man deceased. "There is no indication of criminal intent," says Howard Levitt, spokesman for the U.S. Park Service.

Original story 12:15 p.m.: Medical authorities have not yet identified the body that was discovered early this morning at Ocean Beach.

According to the Fire Department, the body was found face-down in the water near Great Highway and Judah Street just before 7:30 a.m.

We put in a call to the U.S. Park police who are investigating the incident, hoping to get more details about what happened. We'll tell you more when we know more.
