That hiatus you've been taking from mass transit ever since you saw the BART sex video has come to an end: The Bay Bridge closes tonight for five days, and you're now stuck with mass transit -- and all the insanity that comes with it.

Hopefully, you remembered that before crossing the Bay Bridge this morning one last time. If not, hopefully you know of a good place to stash your car for the next five days (we can just see the folks in Bernal Heights stocking up on paper, pens, and Prozac).

In any event, you still have some transportation options to work and play in the Bay Area during this blackout -- albeit, those options are limited (and crowded). We've stitched together your guide for getting around:

BART

  • Overnight trains will operate hourly on a two-route modified service serving 14 stations, with trains between Concord and San Francisco International Airport forming one line and trains between El Cerrito del Norte and Dublin/Pleasanton forming the other line.

  • Trains will converge at MacArthur station in Oakland, where passengers can transfer to get to any of the 14 stations that will be open 24 hours.

  • If you plan on using the train between midnight and 5 a.m., park your car at a station that will actually be open. Here's the stations that will be open: Embarcadero, Powell St., 24th St., Daly City, San Francisco International Airport, El Cerrito del Norte, Downtown Berkeley, MacArthur, 12th St./Oakland City Center, Coliseum/Oakland Airport, Bay Fair, Dublin/Pleasanton, Concord, Walnut Creek

  • On Labor Day Monday, BART will operate on a Saturday schedule.

Ferry

  • Expanded service on the Vallejo, Alameda Main Street, Oakland, Harbor Bay, and SF routes (more ferries!)

  • The South San Francisco /East Bay route will operate regular weekday schedule, including the SSF to San Francisco excursion service on Friday, Aug. 30.

  • There will be direct service between Alameda Main Street and San Francisco, and direct service between Oakland and S.F. Normally Alameda, Oakland and SF are served with one boat, but this week, there will be more.

  • The Weekend/Holiday service will go into effect on Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day, August 31 - Sept. 2. Here's some changes for that weekend:

  • There will be extra service from Harbor Bay, Alameda Main Street, and Oakland

  • Vallejo will operate regular weekend schedule

  • There will be Angel Island service from Vallejo, Alameda Main Street, and Oakland on Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day

AC Transit

  • No buses will be in service across the Bay Bridge starting 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday through the opening on Tuesday morning.

  • Buses will detour to four BART stations to drop off passengers going to San Francisco and pick up passengers coming from San Francisco:

And remember: There will be no transit service to-and-from San Francisco between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Visit 511.org for more information.

Oh, and you should probably know: There is a 5-10 minute delay on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line in the SFO and Daly City directions this morning due to an equipment problem on the track.
