A 47-year-old man is behind bars today after he allegedly pulled a knife on a Muni driver and stabbed him in the leg.

Officer Gordon Shyy says the incident happened yesterday at about 7:08 p.m. on the corner of Eddy and Taylor streets when a passenger told the bus driver that there was a guy with a knife on board. The Muni driver stopped the bus and called the cops.

While they were waiting for police, the man came up to the bus driver, pulled out a knife, and demanded the bus keep moving.

The driver, understandably afraid, tried to kick the man off the bus, fearing for his safety. As he was escorting him off, the man stabbed the 52-year-old Muni driver in the leg, Shyy says.

The cops arrived just in time to arrest the knife-wielding man who has been identified as David Choy, a San Francisco resident Choy was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, probation violation, multiple local warrants, and resisting arrest.
