An alleged bank robber is in custody this morning after he tried to break into an ATM and then tried to flee police -- both of which he failed at miserably.

Office Gordon Shyy reports that at about 3:45 a.m., the burglar attempted to break into an ATM at the Bank of America on the 2400 block of San Bruno Avenue, but the cops arrived before he could withdraw the cash.

Police set up a perimeter as the suspect attempted to flee, jumping from roof-to-roof across the neighborhood. It was working out for him, until he fell through a hole on the roof.

Sgt. Wilford Williams told NBC News the burglar fell, just as police were telling him to put his hands up.

Needless to say, the suspect, who has not been identified, landed in handcuffs.
