San Francisco medical authorities identified the boy who was killed Friday morning in a horrific car crash as 16-year-old Kevin San.

San, a Lincoln High School student, was in his family mini van with his mother and sister just before 7 a.m. on Friday when an unidentified woman traveling 80 mph in a Mercedes crashed into the van that was stopped at a light on Gough and Pine streets.

The van went airborne and rolled over, killing San and critically injuring his mother and sister. The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter but was released on $300,000 bail. She was not injured.

NBC reports that grief counselors will be at Lincoln High today for students and teachers. In addition, they'll be able to honor San, signing posters at lunch to express their condolences for the teen, who was a member of the ROTC drum corps.

Last night, San's friends reportedly held a vigil for him, mourning the kid who they say was always smiling.

"He would always have a smile on his face and would always give me a laugh about something," San's friend, Jason Bolano, told ABC News.
