Timothy Chase: Cops Say They've Busted Man Who Attacked Homeless Person

San Francisco police say they've arrested 28-year-old Timothy Chase who's accused of stomping on a homeless man while sleeping in the street.

Last week, a video was released showing the appalling scene: A burly man strolling along the street in SOMA stops and repeatedly kicks a homeless person who appeared to be asleep along Third Street near Bryant.

The incident was caught on surveillance and first aired by KTVU.

After seeing the video, San Francisco police started an investigation, which led to Chase's arrest this morning.

Sgt. Danielle Newman says police received multiple tips which helped them identify the victim and the suspect. Police went to Chase's house where they spoke to him about the assault, He was subsequently arrested and charged with seven counts of aggravated assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.

Police are not releasing his mugshot at this time, pending identification issues. But here's the video of the incident:
