Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Hit-And-Run Collision (Update)

Update: Officer Albie Esparza says the vehicle involved in the incident was a VW Passat. The pedestrian is recovering in the hospital and is expected to survive.

An unidentified man is in critical condition this morning have he was hit while walking in the city's SOMA neighborhood yesterday.

Police had very few details at this time, but said the man, who was only identified as being between 25 and 30 years old, was walking across the street at 10th and Division when a driver in a white vehicle struck him, says Officer Gordon Shyy.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a life-threatening injury.

Police say the driver sped off after the incident and has not been found.
