It's always such a rare pleasure when bike thieves make it easy for cops to bust them.

In this case, all it took was a surveillance camera and a home visit for San Francisco cops to recover a stolen bike -- and arrest the alleged thief. Here's what happened:

On May 6, at about 8:30 a.m., a man went to the Richmond station to report that his bike had been snatched from inside his apartment lobby on the 200 block of Eighth Avenue that morning. According to police reports, the victim showed the cops surveillance video of the burglary.

The suspects were seen on the video, making their way into the garage with their Toyota minivan. It's unclear how they got into the garage, but they did. The crooks then went to the lobby inside the apartment, cut the bike lock and left off with the item. They were then seen stashing the bike inside the minivan before driving out of the garage.

After viewing the video, officers were able to identify both the male and female suspects, as well as the car they used to steal the bike.

The following day, police took a trip down to Daly City, stopping in at the home of the female suspect who lives on the 3100 block of Geneva Avenue.

And it couldn't have been better timing.

Just as the cops pulled up, the woman pedaled up on her newly stolen bike.

The cops searched the property and found other suspects -- and other unrelated crimes, including evidence of fraudulent credit cards. The cops arrested the 39-year-old woman and charged her with burglary, possession of stolen property and burglary tools. They also threw in a narcotics violation in there.

The cyclist has since been reunited with his bike -- a happy ending we don't often read.
