Update Aug 12: The John Doe has been identified, according to authorities. Rachael Kagan, spokeswoman for the hospital, released the following statement:
Thank you so much for your help today in seeking identification for the John Doe at San Francisco General Hospital.

The search was successful and the patient has been identified.

His next of kin came forward after being informed by a neighbor, who had heard about the search from the media.

This is a good outcome for a sad story.

San Francisco authorities need your help identifying this man who was brought to San Francisco General Hospital yesterday morning with severe injuries.

Original story: Hospital staff says the man was found on Duboce and Church Streets on Sunday at approximately 7:30 a.m.  "He was critically hurt and the hospital is urgently seeking his family members. All of the procedural channels to identify him have been exhausted with no result so far," says Rachael Kagan, spokeswoman for the hospital.

The "John Doe" is described as a 6-foot white man in his 20s or 30s, and weighing 146 pounds. He has dyed blond hair and green eyes. He has no tattoos or distinguishing marks. He was wearing pants and shoes and had no wallet or identification on him when he was found.

If you know this man or recognize him, please contact the Sheriff's Office at (415) 206-8063.
