In a confluence of the least-conceivable San Franciscan people or things all heading to San Francisco, former Florida Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, erstwhile comedian Jay Leno, and a mess of big-assed trucks are bound for our city come January

The presidential scion and the blood-spattered winner of the Late Night Game of Thrones will be here for the National Automobile Dealers Association yearly expo. This will be a rare opportunity for Leno to provide comic relief — fellow speaker Beck Weathers will recount the time he attempted to climb Mount Everest, lost eight colleagues, and, miraculously, survived the ordeal sans his right hand and part of his left.

Leno will certainly elicit a chuckle or two after that.

Also heading to town is the American Truck Dealers Convention, in which attendees will be offered the opportunity to glean "six powerful steps on how to achieve professional and personal goals by asking the right questions and being persuasive."

If they can sell trucks in this city — they're golden.

Attendees who don't deign to bring their own set of wheels — beware. The locally based livery service enjoys shaking down the out-of-towners

Perhaps Leno, Bush, and the rest of the automobile industry could hop on Muni?

  • U2 @ SAP Center in San Jose
Last night U2 performed the first U.S. date of it’s Innocence + Experience tour at SAP Center in San Jose. All four band members were present despite recent injuries sustained by both Bono and Edge. The sold out show took audience members on a walk down memory lane as the band revisited their roots. The innovative stage and lighting used gave the arena show an intimate feel, and engaged audience members in all sections of the venue. Photographs by Sugarwolf.

The 103rd annual Bay to Breakers 12K race was packed on Sunday despite the cold weather. With a starting point a few blocks from The Embarcadero, people dressed as bananas, Elvis and everything in between ran west through the city and finished at the Great Highway where breakers crash onto Ocean Beach.
