San Francisco police on Tuesday arrested the aunt of 2-year-old Mi’yana Gregory who was killed by a driver in a hit-and-run collision last Friday.

Officer Albie Esparza says police arrested 25-year-old Lorysha Gage who was with the girl and her twin brother at the time of the incident. The family was walking against a traffic light at Fifth and Mission streets at about 10:37 p.m. when Gage allegedly left the toddler in the crosswalk while she went back to the sidewalk to get the girl's brother.

“It was at this time, that the female child was struck and killed by the (still outstanding) vehicle travelling [sic] on Mission Street with the green light," police said in a statement released this evening.

Gage was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony child endangerment. She was booked into the San Francisco County Jail.

Meanwhile, the driver who hit Gregory is still at large. The suspect vehicle is described as a white mid-90s four-door sedan, either a Camry, Honda, or Lexus with a dark-colored mismatched front bumper and dark or black rims, according to the SFPD.

If you see the suspect vehicle, call 911. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact SFPD anonymously at (415) 575-4444
