No longer will you have to run after the Bacon Bacon Truck; they're setting up a permanent location in part of the former Ashbury Market (205 Frederick at Downey). While Inside Scoop reports the truck will still be the main focus of all-things-bacon, the new outpost will offer morning and lunch bacon items to go. And for dessert, Three Babes Bakeshop will be serving sweets out of the same location.
The City also loves all things BBQ: Urban Daddy unveils that Southpaw BBQ will start serving Southern favorites this Thursday (2170 Mission at 17th St.). Expect in-house brewed beers and cocktails (with a Southern twist of course) to wash it all down.
The first of two izakayas slated for the same block in the Mission opens for dinner today. Inside Scoop shares that the Japanese comfort food and izakaya menu for Izakaya Yuzuki; in what we hope is only known as a formerly cursed spot from here forward (598 Guerrero at 18th St.).
So long, Candy Darling. The Tender Nob sweet shop has shuttered, and Eater SF hypothesizes that the space was too large for the small confections shop to afford the rent. No word yet if the shop will reappear in smaller space.
Another Beautifull has bit the dust. Grub Street says the Castro location of the health food restaurant has shuttered. Apparently, they'll be focusing on their last remaining location in Laurel Heights.
