Less than a week after the victory parade in Oakland that celebrated the Golden State Warriors’ third championship in four years, Bernal Heights’ Barebottle Brewing Co. has elevated its 4-0 series win over the Cleveland Cavaliers into an even hoppier victory by releasing a 6.5 percent ABV LeBron Tears Hazy IPA. Via Instagram,
“Little known fact: KD, Steph, and Klay take opposing teams’ hopes and dreams and turn them into soul crushing 3-pointers. We took the tears from Sir James’ Game 1 loss and distilled them into a hazy IPA, just for you. We also decided that Tears pair well with Mosaic hops. Sad!”
Damn. James has been seen around a number of S.F. restaurants and eateries in recent years, from Smitten Ice Cream to The Bird, and — most recently — PABU. SF Weekly has reached out to Barebottle to inquire as to how long LeBron Tears will be available alongside beers like Dust Dynasty and Lager Calrissian in its taproom at 1525 Cortland Ave., or whether Warriors-fan dads drank through the entire production over the weekend.
A cease-and-desist may be in the works, but for now, diehard gloaters may want to read the comments on cleveland.com’s story. No word yet as to whether LeBron Tears will be distributed in Cleveland for a while, then exclusively in Miami for like four years, then in Cleveland again.
