Campanula Arises in North Beach, the Shipping Crates Descend into Hayes Valley

The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

According to Eater SF, the first phase of the Proxy project (corner of Octavia and Linden) ― you know, the shipping-crate complex ― is finally being installed on Tuesday. The first tenant to open up shop will be Smitten Ice Cream, who should be ready by mid-March. After that comes Ritual Roasters and 4505 Meats, then the Suppenküche Biergarten and finally the new Pizzeria Delfina branch.

Inside Scoop makes public the fact that Le Club is going into Chapter 7 bankruptcy, allowing owner Gina Milano to bring Randy Lewis in as chef-partner. A new name may be in order. The pitch: Southern-inflected food.
