Dozens of people camped out overnight to celebrate the opening of Walnut Creek's new Chick-fil-A, reports SF Weekly's news blog The Snitch. Apparently, the first 100 people to claim a wristband and keep their place in line overnight received coupons for 52 free meals. The fast food chain inspired protests a few months back for president Dan Cathy's anti-gay remarks; now, in light of Tuesday's election, maybe some figure a year of chicken eating will be enough to counteract the legalization of marriage in several states and the reelection of pro-gay President Barack Obama. Or maybe they just really, really like the fried chicken sandwiches.
