A word of advice to anyone thinking about checking out the waffle sandwiches at month-old Dash Café in the Inner Sunset: Don't. Just two weeks after word of Dash's Belgian waffle sandwiches and sundaes hit the media buzz machine, the café has had to suspend production due to what it calls “equipment issues.” Saturday, a barista seemed to blame splotchy kitchen maintenance by the space's prior inhabitants (Dragonfly), or just old fixtures. Whatever. A café source now tells SFoodie the contractor should wrap up his repairs by the end of the week, when the waffle iron should again be ready to receive batter. In the meantime, Dash is open for Blue Bottle coffee drinks and pastries.
