If (like me) home cookin' for you means pasta, pasta, and more pasta — with the occasional frozen pizza thrown in for good measure — then perhaps it's time to expand your cooking horizons a little bit. And if following a recipe in a cookbook is too tall an order, than head down to the Ferry Building today at noon for the return of Easy Market Meals, a series of free summer cooking demos that focus on one or two seasonal ingredients currently at market and offer easy ways to cook them at home. Each lesson is taught by a different foodie, from professional chefs to food writers to butchers and grocers. Today finds Tia Harrison of Avedano’s Market at the helm. Mmm, meaty. It's happening in CUESA's Dacor teaching kitchen in the North Arcade, in front of the Ferry Building. And I've been assured there will be samples and recipe handouts. Demonstrations begin at 12:00, 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. Look for these demos going on the first and third Tuesday of each month through September.
