Friday Nine: Possible Lead Contamination in Healdsburg Schools, Nobu in Palo Alto

Plus Belcampo Meats continues to expand, and Hillary Clinton joins the anti-tipping crusade (but from a pro-labor perspective).

[jump] Belcampo Meat Heads to Jack London Square
Hot only the heels of announcing its tenancy at the Yard at Mission Rock, Eater reports that Belcampo Meat Co. is eyeing a 5,000-square-foot space at 368 Third St. in Oakland where the butchers will open a full-service restaurant and bar.

Palo Alto Likely to Get a Nobu
So says Inside Scoop, anyway. Further details are pretty scarce, but that would be pretty cool!

CUESA's Pisco Class
Isn't mezcal hogging all the attention these days? How about some pisco instead? Next Thursday, March 10, from 6-7:30 p.m., CUESA's Spring Equinox cocktail class with buddy up with Pisco Trail to teach you how to make seasonal variations on the Pisco Sour, plus a Pisco Greyhound and Pisco Punch. 'Apparently The Rock hasn’t eaten candy since 1989.'”

Hillary Clinton Hates Tipping, Too
At a rally in Manhattan, Hillary Clinton — who has elsewhere called for raising the minimum wage — advocated the abolition of the tipped minimum wage. According to AM New York, she said, “We are the only industrialized country in the world that requires tipped workers to take their income in tips instead of wages.”
