Grand Coffee, Citizens Band, and Mission Chinese Food All Enter the Realm of the Living

The last 24 hours in rumor, innuendo, and straight-out facts about restaurant openings and closings in San Francisco.
Marcia G. at Tablehopper and Kevin M. at Uptown Almanac both report on the opening of Grand Coffee (2663 Mission) in what used to be the concession stand for the Grand theater, back when the Mission actually had movie theaters. The pitch: There are conflicting reports on whether the cafe serves Four Barrel or Ritual (SFoodie is more likely to believe Tablehopper, who reports the former); but expect barista-meets-bartender drinks like a liquid affogato layering cane syrup, half and half, and espresso. SFoodie tried making a joke about how it's a pousse-café café, decided that was too recherché to be funny, and then went with it anyway.
Paolo L. at Inside Scoop says that Baker and Banker's bakery (1701 Octavia) is finally wending its way through the last of the permitting rapids and may float into open(ing) water around August 1.
