The rundown: What's your usual routine for Cinco de Mayo: after-work beers, cheap tequila shots, Taqueria San Jose under glaring lights, Tums, a couple glasses of water, and a sweaty night under the covers? Might as well make the money you'd otherwise spend on rounds of Tecates go to a better cause ― CUESA's efforts in sustainability education, for instance. This Cinco de Mayo, Marina margarita slinger Tacolicious is organizing a benefit celebration that's more about quality than sheer slamming, featuring food from Nopalito, Chaac Mool, Mijita, and Tamales los Mayas, among others. There'll be wine and beer, plus cocktails featuring tequilas from Don Julio, Tres Agaves, and Herradura, to name three. Hey, you'll still end up thirsty and thrashing under the covers, but at least you'll be sweating out quality booze.
