The James Beard Foundation announced its 2016 nominees this morning at the Officers Club in the Presidio. No Bay Area restaurant was nominated in the Outstanding Restaurant category, but otherwise the home team did quite well.

Also, friend of the blog and former SFoodie editor John Birdsall was nominated in the Food and Culture category for “Straight-Up Passing” in Jarry magazine.
