Ike's Place Offering Coupon Deal for Charity

For fans of Ike's Place, the clock is running out on a chance to save green on sandwich purchases while boosting a good cause. Owner Ike Shehadeh has partnered with MiKind, a new Groupon-style service with a charity twist. Shehadeh wants to raise funds for Mama Hope's St. Timothy's School in Tanzania, seeking to raise $2,000 to help build an orphanage with living quarters for 100 children, a vocational training center, and a community garden.

The way it works: Until midnight tomorrow, Feb. 19, you pay $12 for a coupon worth $20 at Ike's Place ― $4 will be donated to Mama Hope. Maybe the best part is that the coupons never expire; Ike's says it'll accept them anytime. The fine print: coupons are for use only at Ike's San Francisco location. No cash back or credit (meaning you have to buy $20's worth ― or more ― of food). Sounds like a good deal to us.
