We were lucky to be able to sample Adobo Hobo's pork sisig tacos before they sold out at last Wednesday's street-food lunch in South Park. Featuring pork butt, Hobo's version of Filipino tacos contained leaner meat than is usual with sisig, which is traditionally made with meat picked off a pig's head, marinated in lemon juice or vinegar. Diced grilled pork was served on freshly warmed tortillas, topped with chopped onions, jalapenos, sour cream, and crushed crispy chicharrón (fried pork rinds) — a mouthwatering combination. And at two for $5, the price was easy on the wallet. Adobo Hobo introduced sisig tacos in December; we're hoping we see them again at future street-food gatherings.
