Murio's Reopens, Bacon Bacon Expands Its Hours, and Chef Changes

The new (and improved?) Murio's Trophy Room is back to serving drinks. Inside Scoop points out the interior is free of the knickknacks and doo-dads that use to line the wall and ceilings, and in their place is a more streamlined look. But what appears to be the most notable change inside is linked to the outside — the front is now lined with windows where there used to be none. No word yet on if the drinks (or their prices) have changed.

Bacon Bacon's brick-and-mortar Bacon Bacon Kitchen opened last week in Cole Valley with morning-weekday hours only (205 Frederick at Ashbury). Now, Eater SF says they'll start serving the crispy strips of pork on Saturdays starting Jan . 14, and will follow this with lunch on Jan. 23.

Changes in the kitchen: The Nombe team let us know Noriyuki “Nori” Sugie has been brought on as executive chef. His initial plans include a ramen-focused lunch menu with an emphasis on beef. Also, Nombe is now open six days a week.

Inside Scoop regales the news of the Wayfare Tavern's chef de cuisine Michael Thiemann is heading to Ella Dining Room & Bar in Sacramento. Stepping into his role at Wayfare will be John Gurnee, who has been with the restaurant since its opening.

Changes behind the bar: Inside Scoop reports Perbacco and Barbacco's wine director, Mauro Cirilli, has left to prusue new projects. Currently, no replacement has been hired, and owner Umberto Gibin will act as the wine director in the interim.
