Prep Your Gut With 4505 Meats' Turducken Sandwich

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

If you've been reading SFoodie religiously, you know that 4505 Meats has been taking orders for Thanksgiving turducken. On the 4505 blog, owner Ryan Farr has posted photos of the process ― bones out of birds, chicken into duck, then duck into turkey, all bound together with sausage and cornmeal stuffing. To buy a 30-something-pound turducken cost $275, not to mention the cost of sides for the 25 guests it apparently feeds. Instead, the curpoorous (that would be culinary adventurous but broke) can pick up a $12 taste of Farr's masterwork at his temporary turducken stand, which set up on the corner of Octavia and Linden yesterday and continues today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (The vacant lot is the site of the future Hayes Valley Proxy.)
