It’s a bit drizzly out there today, so the original launch date has been pushed back a week, but Presidio Twilight will return for the season on Thursday, May 23.
Described as the “sultry” older sister of the much-loved Presidio Picnic, this partnership between Off the Grid Markets and the Presidio Trust is full of food trucks, live music, fire pits, and a full bar to San Francisco’s very own national park every Thursday from 5-9 p.m., all summer long. This year, they’re adding little geodesic lawn domes in case you need an extra think plastic layer of shielding from any wind-driven fog. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis, they can really make an evening picnic sparkle.
It also bears repeating that the big, beautiful lawn on the Presidio’s Main Post where the organizers throw this shindig was a big, ugly parking lot until only a few years ago.
For the May 23 kick-off, Mozzeria, El Porteño Empanadas, DUM Indian Truck, and others will be keeping everybody feeling cozy and satiated. See here for the full line-up of trucks.
