Those of us who were super-bummed that we didn't get our Whole Beast lamb poutine fix at Outside Lands this year may be in luck: The whole animal vendor is coming to a newly announced food hall in mid-Market.
[jump] Eater brings word on businesses coming to the new food hall in the old Hollywood Billiards building, which will feature grub from The Whole Beast; Vietnamese food truck Little Green Cyclo's first brick-and-mortar; Raj + Singh Indian fare; and Moroccan-Peruvian fusion (?) from Cassia, a permanent spot from the Fuki food truck. A bar featuring beer and cocktails will be provided by Anchor Distilling.
We've written before about how happening Ferry Building-style food halls are these days — 331 Cortland, Second Act Marketplace, Market on Market going into the ground floor of the Twitter building, the unnamed going into Upper Market in the Castro, the Market Hall going into the base of the Channel Mission Bay apartments.
Is this just an upscale retooling of the basic food court, or a trend with more longevity?
