Street food is such a potent local force, even chefs who never tarry outside longer than the time it takes to suck down a Camel behind the dumpster are getting into the spirit. Thursday at the Ferry Plaza farmers' market, taco stall Tacolicious is premiering its six-week guest chef stunt: Each Thursday, a local light in chef pants will bust out a special, with proceeds benefiting CUESA. This week it's Chad Newton of Fish & Farm, overseeing what SFoodie blogger Carolyn Alburger describes in this week's 7-Day Dish e-mail newsletter as a riff on the classic fish taco, only with tentacles in that other hemisphere: Spanish-style poached octopus, with confit potatoes, smoked crema, pickled cabbage, and cilantro. Chefs making an appearance on future Thursdays include Craig Stoll of Delfina, Betelnut's Alex Ong, and Liza Shaw of A16 (full schedule here); details on Thursday's Newtonian taco-liciousness after the jump.
