Thursday Five: RN74 Will Become a Temporary Super Bowl Restaurant, Hog & Rocks' New Menus

Plus the Hall, Workshop SF and IndieMart are joining forces to create a brunch pop-up this weekend, and Nigella Lawson is so over your self-righteous eating habits.

[jump] Mina's RN74 Will Become a Temporary Super Bowl Restaurant
Since it's so close to the party zone, Michael Mina's RN74 will close from Feb. 1-7 to become a temporary restaurant called On the Fifty, according to the Business Times. There will be NFL players milling about.

Hog And Rocks' New Menu
Robin Song left Hog & Rocks at the end of September to pursue his Korean pop-up, Junju, and now the five-year-old gastropub is under the control of Chef Pierre Tumlin. He's rolling out fresh brunch and dinner menus, including a chicken-and-waffle, charred Spanish octopus, and squid ink spaghetti. There's also a prosciutto flight of three versions of the same ham (aged for 18, 24, and 36 months) with a wine pairing.
Hog & Rocks, 3431 19th St., 415-550-8627 or hogandrocks.com.

Halliday Crafty Brunch Mart
There are more craft fairs every year, but few of them are free to enter and give you bottomless mimosas for $13. This Saturday, Dec. 12, the D.I.Y. champions at Workshop SF and Indie Mart gather at The Hall for a Halliday Crafty Brunch Mart, featuring crafty gifts, a wreath-making booth, and every form of Benedict that the Whole Beast serves. (There will also be Equator coffee and chilaquiles from El Pipila.) Do not try to get something similar from Amazon Prime, cause you can't.
Halliday Crafty Brunch, Saturday, Dec 12. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., free, at the Hall, 1028 Market, thehallsf.com

Palace is Burning
There was a fire in the building that houses the Palace restaurant late last night, according to KRON 4. Two people at 3047 Mission were injured, 10 were displaced.

Nigella Lawson is sick of your #CleanEating
Did you know that orthorexia (the obsession with eating healthfully) might enter the DSM-V? According to Salon, Nigella Lawson is on a tear to fight the scourge of puritanism undercutting our enjoyment of food. Take care of your body, but by all means, life your life.
