Via Eater comes the news that, as of several weeks ago, pop-up Sneaky's BBQ has buddied up with Southpaw in the Mission to serve brisket and pulled pork. There will be vegan sides, as well.

Studio Arhoj Pop-Up at Umami Mart
From Nov. 18 through Dec. 24, Downtown Oakland's Umami Mart will combine Japanese convenience store snack food with sleek Danish design, as Copenhagen's Studio Arhoj takes over for a pop-up that blends the two cultures' aesthetics. There's no better way to make your kitchen positively reek of taste.

Draft Day at Cerveceria de MateVeza
To celebrate Beer Week's Opening Gala Beer Bowl in January, the San Francisco Brewers Guild is releasing two collaborative brews as part of a “playful competition” between craft brewers from north and south of Market Street. Dave McLean of Magnolia Brewing (Team NOMA) and Mike Schnebeck of Fort Point (Team SOMA) are tossing a coin at Cerveceria de MateVeza in the Mission (i.e., Team SOMA's home turf) to see who gets first pick of the ingredients to brew those beers. So it's a pre-pre-party, which is reason enough.

Urbano Latino Now Open in Temescal
The 64-seat Urbano Latino is now open in the space that used to be Iron Pan. Chef Munther Massarweh's pan-Latin menu includes mini carne asada street tacos, Kobe pork belly on masa cakes, and brick-pressed boneless half-chicken with mole sauce. Better still, there are tequila and bourbon flights, bottomless mimosas for brunch, and a make-your-own-margarita situation that is bound to draw people from far and wide.

Manresa Bread For Thanksgiving
If you're already plotting out your Thanksgiving menu, three-Michelin-starred Manresa's nearby bakery division, Manresa Bread, is offering pre-orders for its bread (along with pies, pastries and more). Orders can be placed until Nov. 23 for Nov. 25 pickup. Yeah, you have to drive to Los Gatos, but think about how your guests will be willing to overlook the cranberry sauce that retains the shape of the can.

Guinness Goes Vegan
The 258-year old national beer of Ireland has decided to become vegan-friendly. Guinness' sticky wicket has been isinglass, which is used to filter yeasts and other solids out of the final product (and which is also removed.) The New York Times explains it as a “gelatinlike substance derived from the dried swim bladders of fish.” Lovely day for a Guinness!
