Winner of Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Award, one of Esquire’s Best Bars in America, and all-around good-time-charlie of a watering hole, Trick Dog has released its latest semiannual menu, and it is totes adorbs.
Replacing the Chinese takeout theme comes a 2016 wall calendar of canines in seasonal dress, from Frank the pit bull that looks like he was just giving Ann Geddes kisses (May) to a Bernese named Juno who’s ready to go back to school (September) to a corgi names Waffles who’s warily baring its rainbow-shorts-clad butt (June). Awwww.
[jump] Some of the pups are pets of Trick Dog’s principals, and each comes paired with a cocktail (including ingredients) as well as a hashtag, enabling people to vote for their favorite in Trick Dog’s Best in Show competition — which is real and will result in “treats, scratches, and other yet-to-be-determined prizes.” If that’s too much, you can just get drunk on stuff. Take August’s cocktail, for instance. It’s made with Tequila Ocho reposado, Amaro Meletti, El Maestro Sierra fino sherry, and malted milk ball.
You can buy the calendar at the bar for $20, too, and all proceeds go to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue and Northern California Family dog Rescue. Feel free to scrawl your dental appointments all over it, or just treat it like a pretty objet d’art du chiens de la ruse. In the meantime, we honestly can’t wait for it to be February 2016 because there are two bulldogs named Sunday and Stephen and they both have their tongues out and Stephen is wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, aaaagggghhh!
