It’s a new year, which means new beginnings and apparently new musical pairings for 2017’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
This year’s festival — which spans two weekends, from April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23 — will be headlined by none other than Queen Bey herself, along with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead (who, fun fact, headlined Outside Lands in 2016).
The lineup for 2017 is particularly rap heavy, with a slew of big-name and cutting edge artists on the bill, such as Future, Gucci Mane, Mac Miller, Denzel Curry, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, and Raury.
Solo female artists, like Kiiara, Tove Lo, Banks, and Lorde, also made the cut, along with some outlier bands, like the multi-decade old Jamaiccan reggae group Toots and the Maytals and S U R V I V E, the Austin creative geniuses behind Stranger Things’ synth-laden soundtrack.
