Get Your Geek On at the Bay Area Record Fair

The celebration of local labels, record stores, and music takes place this Sunday, November 6 at Swedish American Hall. And it's free!

Now in its third year, the Bay Area Record Fair is a chance for people to get exposed to and (of course) buy music from more than 40 independent local labels, studios, record stores, and other music-related organizations.

Run by Father/Daughter Records and “presented” by Noise Pop, Amoeba Music, Different Fur Studios, U-Turn Audio, Pirates Press, and Vinyl Me, Please, the free(!) event takes place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Swedish American Hall. Local DJs Brogan Bentley, DJ Primo, and Chulita Vinyl Club will also be spinning.

And don’t let the name fool you: There will be much more for sale than just records, so expect CDs, cassettes, gear, and even a raffle.

If you have any friends who think our local music scene is dead, take them to this event and they’ll see that that’s far from the case.
