The Guy Who Sings “I Need a Dollar” Will Perform at Macy’s Tree Lighting Ceremony

And you won't "need a dollar" to see him live.

On Friday, Nov. 25, Macy’s will celebrate the start of the holiday season with their 27th annual “Great Tree Lighting Ceremony” in Union Square Park. In addition to the 83-foot tree that will be decorated with more than 33,000 LED lights and 1,100 ornaments, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc will perform.

If his name doesn’t sound familiar, he’s the guy who did the hit song “I Need a Dollar” — which, fun fact, was the intro song for the HBO show How To Make It in America.

Additional performers include the San Francisco Boys’ Chorus, Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, and the cast of She Loves Me from the San Francisco Playhouse.

Oh, and in case it’s not obvious, this event is free, so don’t let money stop you from attending!
