The kids of the Netflix original series Stranger Things can do more than just act. Millie Bobby Brown, the actress who plays Eleven, proved this on The Tonight Show when she rapped Nicki Minaj’s verse in “Monster,” and Gaten Matarrazo, who plays Will’s friend Dustin, showed off his vocal chops when he performed a song from Les Misérables at a karaoke party.
Now, they’ve proved it again by performing Bruno Mars’ 2014 hit, “Uptown Funk” at last night’s Emmy Awards pre-show. Brown, Matarrazo, and Caleb McLaughlin (who plays Lucas, and, along with Matarrazo got his start on Broadway) traded off vocals, singing the song’s signature “Hot damn!” while strutting across the stage and striking some very Mars-esque dance moves.
Unfortunately, the performance wasn’t part of the Emmy’s official broadcast, but some quick thinkers in the audience captured the moment on their smart phones. The footage is shitty, but there’s no denying that these are some hella talented kids.
