Thanks to Obama, We Can Say Goodbye to Ticket Bots

A new bill promises federal punishment for those using the nasty ticket hoarders.

Thanks to the Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act, which was passed last week by the Senate and the House and signed by President Obama this week, you no longer have to worry about all those damn ticketing bots that snatch up thousands of tickets and hike up prices on sites like StubHub.

The bill targets those who use ticket bots, calling their use “an unfair and deceptive practice” that is in violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act, reports Consequence of Sound.

What this means for you is that ticket prices to events, concerts, etc. will now be lower, and you won’t be forced to shell out, say, $15,000 for a StubHub ticket to see Hamilton, which sadly is the case right now.
