The city might be culturally down, but it's not entirely out; San Francisco still has a few institutions from the old days that are worth going to. One of them is Tubesteak Connection, Bus Station John's long-running Thursday night disco party at Aunt Charlie's Lounge in the Tenderloin. Started in 2004 as a way to simulate the cruisey atmosphere of pre-AIDS bathhouses and pick-up bars, it's since developed a devoted following and worldwide reputation as a place that offers a true underground disco experience. Tonight marks the party's 10th anniversary, expect a sweaty, red-tinted evening soundtracked by some of the best (and most obscure) disco songs to have ever been released.
